Like A Wheel...

I may go back and review all the individual books in Stephen King's Darktower series one by one, but I will start at the end and speak now of the series as a whole. Or is it the beginning. "Ka" is like a wheel in that it goes 'round and 'round. After you've read this series you'll see what I mean.

Each title is a stand-alone novel, yet after each I craved the next to continue the saga. I loved the characters and relationships were established. Throughout the series, though, hearts were also broken. This comes from falling in love with the characters.

The settings were varied and created with King's epic imagination. Like most of his works I could place myself there, on scene, as a member of the close-knit group.

If you're a Stephen King fan, I strongly recommend this series. Be prepared, it's huge, but well worth the ride. You'll make discoveries along the way and learn that many of King's tales all led to this. Remember Ted Brautigan and the low-men in yellow coats, always hot on his trail? In this series you'll learn more about that.

It's hard to write a review about something with such scope, and I don't want to give too much away, but I do love this series and you may too. Try it, just allow yourself some time to get through all of it. 'ake, 'ake.
