In gereration dead, dead teenagers aren't staying dead, and are looking for ways to become part of normal society, although it doesn't want them. In oakvale high, phoebe, a pale-skinned goth, has never been part of the "in" crowd, finds herself attracted to Tommy williams. There's just one problem. He's dead. Tommy manages to get onto the football team, but not everyone is so accepting and there are some who want to rid the community of the dead kids, who are also called "living impaired" or "differently biotic". Phoebe's interest in tommy is noticed by her friends and they don't understand it, although phoebe manages to convince them to help out with a project at school involving "DB" kids, both adam and margi have concerns. The project is trying to help "DB" kids intergrate into society at school and in there neighbourhoods.
When i first picked up this book i was planning on buying another book from Stephenie Meyer, but it was on a stand with the words, "if you like Stephenie Meyer you'll like this" and i couldn't help but be intrigued. And i have to admit i did like the book, its a little different then i thought it was going to be. But i liked the way the "DB" kids where described. They weren't rotten with worms coming out there eyes or anything just kids who didnt seem to get physically hurt by things, and who had died. the budding relationship between phoebe and Tommy is kinda cute and you can feel sorry for the "DB" kids when others want to hurt them. Overall i liked the book and i thought it was a good red. I recommend it to anyone, child or adult.
