I Wanted More

I love this book. I am a big Stephen King fan and this book didn't disappoint. It was a pretty much a straight-through read for me, as is typical, it was hard to put down. The characters, the settings (all familiar to me in real life), and most of all the story, were all done in King's top-notch style.

I don't have a cell phone and this book made me happy with that fact. I felt bad for those who do. This leads me to one of the aspects about this stories that are sometimes lacking in King's novels: feasibility. This could really happen. Prior to the events of 9/11 I wouldn't have thought this, but after that, I realize anything is possible.

The only thing that bothered me about this story was the ending -- or lack thereof. The events that followed were spelled out but never spoken leaving it to me, the reader, the provide closure. I don't necessarily mind this fact, what the mind's eye sees if one of the reasons books are never over-shadowed by movies based on them -- but maybe it's the lazy side of me or perhaps just a desire to keep reading that I want to story to be continued by the author. I wanted King to tell me what happens, not the other way around.

Aside from this small niggle, I highly recommend this book.
