Dull. Didn't enjoy anything about this book - the pretty cover was the best bit. A struggle to finish.

Perfect holiday reading. Very funny. All my favourite ingredients - politics, sex, dodgy journos and even dodgier clergy. Reminded me of Colin Bateman. This will not be my last Christopher Brookmyre.

Cover imageFahrenheit 451 (Flamingo Modern Classics)

by Ray Bradbury

Written in 1953, this book is amazingly relevant today - particularly on the mind-numbing properties of inane television and its vision of a populace wearing miniature speakers in their ears.

Fascinating insight into a family's life in Kabul after the Taliban. Head of the house Sultan may be liberal when it comes to his country and his new government, but not when it comes to the women in his family.

Very exciting conclusion to the series. Incredibly dark in parts - even gave me bad dreams! Thoroughly enjoyable.
