I read this book slowly, comparatively, because I knew when it was over I would know everything there is to know about Gemma and the realms. And I didn't really want to, yet. And that's how good these books are.

This book was so much better than the first that it's kind of amazing. Very engrossing, very entertaining, very thrilling. I loved it so much that when I saw that I didn't have the third at the ready, I had to run out to buy it to have it on hand - and I work at a library, so that shows what that means.

I'm glad I went back and finished this book. Although I didn't love it, I can see why people do - and I will definitely read the rest of the trilogy.

I really didn't enjoy this book. I'm not sure if it's actually because I thought it was bad, or because I thought it was boring or what. It seemed like a cool idea - vampires on a quest to be accepted into society (I feel like I've been reading a lot of books like that lately) but it just didn't do anything for me in the end. Morning McCobb is a cool name though.

This was a weird book for me. I really like R.A. Nelson's writing style and enjoy her characters, which were the only things keeping me reading the book - because the story was a bit disturbing and none of the character's decisions seemed to make much sense in the end. I don't know how to explain it all really, hence 3.

Great story, funny characters, obviously a beginning to a series, but not only a book to set up the rest - it really is a story unto itself. I really enjoyed it a lot.

Interesting, if a bit predictable. Engaging character that YAs will relate to - good for middle and older YAs, except for some light language issues.

I really enjoyed this book. It actual made a statement about bioethics, and made it in a way that was unique, interesting and fit within a solid narrative with in-depth characters and interesting arguments. (Unlike Generation Dead - which tried to do this, but failed so miserably.) Would be a great addition to any YA collection.

Cover imageAttack of the Theater People

by Marc Acito

Rated by BookSmuggler: 5 out of 5

This book was absolutely hilarious. It's a follow-up to Acito's book "How I Paid For College", but one does not have to read one before the other, as the character development in this one is that good, and I know, because I read the other one years ago and it was like meeting these people all over again. Excellent book - great for those who enjoy theater, but I would think that even those who don't know Starlight Express from Les Miserables would still be able to enjoy it.

Loved it. Excellent as a companion to the Uglies trilogy - and maybe my favorite of all of them. I'll miss Tally and the gang.
