Groups / Genres / YA Lit / Predicitions for Harry Potter

fred says:
I'm not one to really want to make predictions about characters. I do know what I don't want to happen, which is for Harry to die. But for fun, and to get this group started:
- Harry Potter will not die.
- Harry and Hermione....
- Voldemort appears again and is defeated.
- We're left with the possibility of the series to continue in some fashion.
Say you?

While I have no predictions - we have been discussing this book here at home. My children both want to read it first, and since we only buy one copy had to choose. We chose my son because he has only read one of the HP books first and none of the Lemony Snicket books first. I think it is fair. My daughter does not. In fact she is quite miffed. We have threatened my son with grounding for a month if he spoils it for her. She swears she is locking herself in her bedroom, not reading the paper, watching television or going online until she reads it because she is sure somehow the ending will be spoiled if she does. How's that for planning?

Oh I really hope that Harry doesn't meet an untimely end. Saying that I hope Rowling keeps to her word and doesn't continue the story.
Also I would like to find that Snape is part of some mad scheme on the side of good.
Guess these are hopes rather than predictions, but the kids I work with have basically rubbished my predictions. Though not as far-fetched as my friend's that Dumbledore died before book 6. Don't suppose anything is really far-fetched in the world of Hogwarts!

I think that when Harry grows up he will be an Auror for awhile but then will be the Headmaster at Hogwart's after marrying Jenny Weasley!

Jaemi says:
There's no way she's going to kill Harry Potter. But I think she might kill Ron and Hermione. And I also think she'll be done, like she said she is. After all, the nature of Harry Potter is that he's this incredible kid. I'm not sure the stories would continue on as well into adulthood.
And it's Ginny Weasley ;)
