I work at Bolton Central Library, which is a beautiful 1930s building in sunny Greater Manchester. Sadly, I'm in the basement office... I'm the e-Resources Librarian, which means that my focus is on online library services. I'm mostly occupied by developing and implementing a shiny new community information product, which is going to be pretty cool when it's done. I also do a monthly shift on Enquire, which is a national cooperative online reference service.

I mostly read sf and graphic novels, plus some of the stuff I was supposed to read for my English Lit degree but didn't get around to at the time. I read some tech books and other non-fiction as well. I'm kind of grasping in the dark with Linux at the moment, trying to resurrect my old laptop with Knoppix (while simultaneously sticking it to Microsoft, which doesn't really work when you consider that I have an Xbox 360, a Windows PC, and I'm building another PC as well).

And when I'm not at work, or reading, or playing video games, I like to get out into the flatter bits of the West Pennines on my mountain bike (a Kona Caldera), but I haven't been out for a ride since before Christmas and I'm dreading getting back in the saddle! Usually, though, I just hang out with my girlfriend and our cat, Red.
