Howdy! By now I think I'm known as the crazy reading girl. Which is pretty accurate. Unless I get on a major cross-stitch phase or have a website to design and have to slow down on the page-turning. It also helps to work in a library. Any time I run out of books I just wander out front and before I know it my shelf is overflowing again!

I live in Warick, NY and work in Goshen, NY at the Goshen Public Library, where I'm the beloved Computer Geek. Now. I've been here since my teenage years when I was first a volunteer and then a page. At this point the only Library positions I haven't had a go at are Children's Librarian (though I was an assistant to one) and Director.

I have a BA in English/Writing from SUNY Potsdam, which has turned out to have very little to do with anything in my life aside from it meets a Civil Service requirement and can get me in to Grad School. I hope to start pursuing a Masters of Library and Information Science next year.

For now, I keep myself quite busy and sometimes feel I could use some clones. MoMB is my favorite site ever, and Revish is my favorite closed beta.

And I need to go back to work :)

I love MoMB too.

First degrees can be like that - mine is in law, which wasn't ideal preparation for a career in web development. I'm sure the library Directorship will come. :-)

Wow. That is quite the leap. I grew up in Libraries and writing was creative, so where I ended up really did kind of flow in a way.

There are people who seem to think I'm destined to run a Library but I'm not sure if I want to. I really like my geek-ish life. And the creative aspects of the Web Design. I think I'd miss it.

I'm also not the best with people. There are certain meetings I'm not allowed to go to because of fear of what would come out of my mouth if I opened it. But hey--anything is possible!

I could go in reverse and get computer burnout and go back to preferring people.
