How much is one woman willing to sacrifice to reach her dreams?

Never before has such a flawed and down on her luck character enchanted readers as quickly as Cat Moran does in Susan Kathleen’s debut novel NOMAD’S LAND. When Susan Kathleen set out to write her novel she had no idea of the emotional reaction she would have with the writing process itself. A retelling of Zora Neale Hurston’s Their Eyes Were Watching God, the story takes place in Las Vegas and Chicago in the 90’s. Cat is a woman who is in search of not only her place in the world but also the happiness that accompanies making the right choic es. What she discovers along her path is that there are no guarantees in life and love can be found in the most unusual places. Kathleen weaves a remarkable tale about love, redemption, fear and strength in the incomparable NOMAD’S LAND.

Reviews

"I started NOMAD'S LAND last night and stayed up until almost dawn to finish it! I really enjoyed it ~~ it was funny, honest and thought provoking! I laughed out loud in some places and found myself shaking my head in awe at this author's genius in other parts. This book will totally capture your interest and give you plenty of food for thought." Arlene Uslander, Co-author of "The Simple Touch of Fate."

About the author

Penning stories by three, SUSAN KATHLEEN grew up in Chicago’s Irish-Catholic Southside with her parents and older brother, Neil. Early years were spent explaining Ulysses to teachers, hiding her Mensa card and searching for a way to either fit in or disappear from country club culture. She has a combination of Irish, Italian and Ojibwa blood stirring in her veins and is fascinated by her unique roots.

Kathleen’s postgraduate work took place in Europe, finishing in Ireland. She reads several languages; has hitchhiked across the United States to attend more than a hundred Grateful Dead concerts; and received her doctoral degree solely on a bet with a friend in dental school who she believed could not get the title of "Doctor" before her. She lost. This is her first published novel.

Since we can be hogs, can I have this one? I've always wanted to read Their Eyes Were Watching God, so it will be my excuse.

danchamp says:

No problem, I've sent the publisher your details and a review copy will be with you soon. :-)

cedarwaxwing says:

Just to let you know - I've not received a copy yet. I didn't want you to think I was a slacker. (not that I'm not a slacker - I just don't want you to think so)

danchamp says:

Ha, no problem, I wasn't counting! I'll email them to confirm it's been mailed.

silentdesperation says:

again if there is an extra I would love it. If not don't worry.

cedarwaxwing says:

Good luck silentdesperation. They never sent me a copy although Dan sent them my info twice. I'm not so bothered though, I have too much to read as it is.

ferlie says:
